EQUIPMENT

That I Own.

Canon 600D

This camera allows me to take high quality images and videos - thus aiding me in being able to make more 'professional' looking short films (or other media) and having access 24/7.

Tripod

Owning a tripod is key when filming - they safely keep the Camera stable and firm, allowing a more smoothed out shot and stop any shaking.

PERSONAL RESOURCES

Macbook Pro

Having a platform to upload my footage/files too will keep everything organised and will allow me to travel/edit more easily.

Adobe Premiere Pro

This editing software will allow me to create my films to a professional standard, being portable with my Macbook and having multiple tools that I can use to my advantage.

ACCESS

Education

Locations

My current living arrangements is in Cambridgeshire with easy access to trains that run on a regular basis. Cambridge is also a key location within Britain and can be recognised as a smooth location to get to when involving contacts across the country. I am currently taking driving lessons to help aid me when it comes to being able to travel to shoot locations/scouting/overall travelling within the industry.

I am currently studying a 120 Media Diploma and English Literature A Level at Long Road Sixth Form in Cambridge. Here I have access to high end equipment which I do not own, allowing me to practice and create new visuals and audio within film. I also can get advice from those more knowledgeable within the industry and have had experiences related to mine.

Contacts

Work

My occupant for work at the moment is at my local retail/supermarket - this is not connected with the film industry or what I want to do however it allows me to have a budget for projects e.g. Props, Equipment, hiring actors etc.

I have made contacts who are interested and invested within film that are in my class/pairing subjects at my college. I have also met actors and people already inside of the industry that I could possibly contact to work with for future references.

SWOT

Weaknesses

Strengths

Opportunities

Threats

Owning basic equipment allows me to make films 24/7 to my advantage, even if just for practice or learning new techniques. I also have multiple of contacts on the same level as myself who would be willing to work for free and build portfolios - and all who live within the same area.

Time - since payment would be minimal or non-existent for most members, it is not as high on priority. Many like myself have part-time jobs which take up a chunk of our week and are not always easy to get time off from on.

I have made connections with the BFI and NFTS over the last couple of years, being able to become more recognised within the industry. I have recently also met members of Cambridge TV, appearing on their new show '@7' in an interview. Plus I will be going to University this year, building up my portfolio and making a larger list of contacts.

I am still young and have not had that much experience in the 'real' industry despite my practices. The industry is also highly competitive and I have to constantly be on top of my game. Equipment is also always changing so there is a threat that my current resources will become outdated.

RESOURCE

Plan.

With my current contacts I plan to make as a many short films during 'break' periods. Combing our resources together and helping each other out to produce bigger portfolios.

Having contacts will always be useful since it is a team that brings the highest quality to a film. At my current age and position also being in a location where my contacts are easy to access and having equipment that saves us from spending out on budgets is also very helpful.

MAKING THE BEST

USEFUL RESOURCES

Building up my portfolio and keeping it up to date will help me in the long-run. Making sure I'm meeting new contacts and having platforms that present the best quality of my work and can be easily viewed.
