DIAGRAM:
Based on my flow diagram my first goal is to finish Sixth Form with a D* D* in my Diploma (Media) to then which will later lead onto my further education at NUA (http://www.nua.ac.uk/bafilmandmip/). I currently have been accepted by the University under the conditions I achieve 120 UCAS tariff points. Based on my predicated grades I'm set to receive 160 points.
After University I hope to carry on my education with an MA as the NFTS.
SHORT TERM PLAN
My short term plan is to finish Long Road Sixth Form College with D* D* within my 120 Applied Media Diploma and at least a C or above in English Literature (A Level). With these grades I will be able to achieve getting into my chosen University (NUA).
MID TERM PLAN
I hope to finish University with a strong portfolio and a range of work experience - to then apply to the NFTS for a Masters Degree in either Directing or Screenwriting.
LONG TERM PLAN
I hope to have made several shorts which I have either wrote the Screenplays for, Directed or both. I hope to be on my way to making a feature film and have a reputation and name within the filming industry.
Before I begin my Course at NUA in September I hope to make several short films during the summer where I focus on some of my weaker skills e.g. Sound Design, Lighting etc. Plus after my interview with Cambridge TV I discovered that there are Saturday courses amongst others that I could possibly enlist myself in over the summer period to help achieve improving my skills. By carrying on with my current part-time job too I can also save up further to look into getting/hiring new updated equipment.
CONTINGENCY:
Since my ultimate end goal is Director/Screenwriter instead of one defined role, my contingency would to be only to go down the Screenwriting route. As a free-lancer Screenwriter I would be able to withhold multiple jobs and build my portfolio in the process (This would also allow me to build my budget by having a secure job on the side of Screenwriting). Directing is a harder and a longer pathway and my dedication and determination will decide whether I will be able to make it in this side of the industry.
